Alessandra began exploring the roots of Yoga 23years ago, following her mother Bhakta and artist Fiore.
Her practice in the Kriya Yoga tradition, Tantra, Ayurveda and the T. Krishnamacharya lineage (particularly Vinyasa and Ashtanga Yoga) infuse her Vinyasa flow teaching and daily life.
The first great sacred river of knowledge that she has encountered is Kriya Yoga. She has studied Kriya Yoga for several years under the direct guidance of Swami Kriyananda (direct disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda) both in California and in Italy. Kriya is Yoga for the householder of the 21st century and consists of Karma , Bhakty, Meditation, Pranayama and mudra asana that have been passed down from generations by the great Siddhis (Saints) of the Himalayas.
Then she has met another endless source of inspiration in the Sri Tirumulai Krishnamacharya‘s lineage. Although Krishnamacharya did not teach thousand of students, he is considered the father of modern yoga. To name just a few among his pupils are B.K.S Iyengar (Iyengar Tradition), Sri K. Patthabi Jois (Asthanga Vinyasa tradition), Indra Devi and T.K.S. Desikachar (Vinyoga tradition).
Alessandra has studied Asthanga Vinyasa in Mysore under the guidance of Sri K. Patthabi Jois and for many years in London with Michaela Clarke, John Scott, David Williams, David Swenson, Nancy Gilgoff , Dena Kingsberg.
At the same time as a result of her great interest for this lineage she has continued her studies in Tantra, Ayurveda and Vinyasa with Rod Striker, Tias Little, James Bailey, Shiva Rea, Claire Missingham and Matthew Sweeney.
Alessandra runs inspiring and challenging classes where she encourages the students to explore their full potential by connecting with their own natural rhythm. By threading breath, movement and intention, we open to the inherent pulse of life force. By working with Kramas (progressive sequences) the classes are accessible to all levels and the practitioners are constantly encouraged to follow and honor their own inclinations and personal dharma.
Alessandra is continuing her studies in the lineage with Shiva Rea.
At present she is a mentor on Claire Missingham Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training ongoing in London. She is featured in Claire’s Vinyasa Yoga dvd.
